The Symptoms of Stress
Since stress is dangerous for health and emotional and it is also bad for the heart, we must not underestimate it. Certain forms of stress increase the chances of developing angina, even severe stress can trigger heart attacks. In order to avoid the negative effects of stress in our life, we have to know first its symptoms. These followings are common symptoms that make up the stress syndrome :
- exhaustion, overall fatigue, lack of mental and physical energy
- loss of sexual interest and decreased libido
- irritability, being short-tempered
- anxiety, fear, dry mouth
- panic attacks – sweaty palms, heart pounding (palpitations), loose bowels, nausea
- sadness; loss of appetite, sense of humor, and fun; crying
- disinterest in family, friends, and colleagues
- forgetfulness, poor concentration, disinterest in hobbies
- difficulty sleeping, waking up early in the morning
- lack of ambition, purpose and direction: “everything is pointless, nothing matters, things couldn’t be worse”
- lack of interest in life, no interest in fun things, hobbies, sports, current events, gossip
- muscle and joint aches, headaches, chest pain, breathlessness
- needing or wanting to be alone
- sweating
- bowel disturbances, with diarrhea
- nausea.
I believe you must ever have experienced at least one symptom as noted on the above in your life, it means that stress is closely related to our daily life. Moreover, stress surely has bad effects for the heart. So, it is wise action to prior know the symptoms of stress in order to prevent its unpredictable bad effects.
